Snow White

Um, it's been ridiculously busy these past two weeks so I haven't had time to post. It's all work related, but after tomorrow things should be slowing down. I also have some fun weekends coming up. My SIL is coming next weekend and we're gonna do a fun little brunch here at our apartment. I may bust out some dishes that we got as wedding presents and that are still unopened 4 1/2 years later!

I also have a weekend trip to Boston coming up and am looking forward to a cooler climate. We've had 100+ degree temps for far to many days this summer. Too hot to even enjoy the summer, which is a bummer.

Anyhow, I do have some knitting to show you. May I present to you February Baby Sweater #2 a.k.a. Snow White a.k.a. I needed a cute title for today's post.

Here's a better pic sans model:

This cute little knit is for a friend who had her adorable daughter back in January. Mom is a total girlie girl, so I wanted something uber cute and sweet. I realize white may not be the most practical color for a baby, but it sure makes for one cute sweater. Plus the pink buttons just put it over the top.

I shipped it off last week, but I haven't heard anything from mom. I hope she got it!

Where I've been

Wow, it's been a month since I've posted anything! Folks, it has been busy around these parts. Ever since mid-March I've been staying busy with school. It started with midterms and hasn't really let up much. Now I'm at the tail end of finals and I'll be done in 2 weeks! So ready for that. Especially because N and I have a trip planned to Puerto Rico :-) I am so excited because we have never been to the beach together. Crazy!

Speaking of which, we just celebrated our anniversary last week. Aaah. I decided to stay home that evening from class (sshh don't tell) and made lamb tagine. It's a dish that I had heard about, but never tried. It turned out well and we had a nice relaxing dinner at home. I made N lamb tagine and he got me these:

Gorgeous! I love orchids and he remembered that when he went to buy me flowers. He told that he originally meant to buy me a bouquet of flowers, but when he saw the orchid he thought I'd enjoy them more and it would be a nicer gift. What a sweetie! Apparently, a shipment had just arrived and he couldn't help but notice the sea of purple. N said it looked "cool". I love that man!
Mushy, mushy.....

Moving right along... so, because of school the knitting on my Garter Yoke cardi has slowed a bit. I have managed to at least knit 4 or 5 rows in the last week. I'm at the waist increases now and have another 7 inches to go on the body, then I'm on to the sleeves. The project has also gotten a bit to big to lug around, sooooooo I started another project.

A friend of mine had her baby girl back in January (?) and I had meant to knit her something before she was born, but uh yeah that didn't happen. I waivered back and forth on whether it was too late at this point, but then realized it's never too late! So, I chose my favorite baby sweater pattern, picked up Lion Brand Cotton Ease on sale and cast on. I don't have any WIP shots, but I'll try and get some over the weekend. No promises.

So that's what I've been up to. Hope you're doing well and enjoying this awesome spring weather! Now if you'll excuse me I have some busy to get back too.
