My First Socks

I know it's been a while since I've posted, but I have been knitting. In fact, just last night I finished my very first pair of socks. We won't talk about how long it took me to finish these, or the fact that I broke a needle in half during the process, or that in the end they didn't fit me. Instead, I'll just relish on the fact that I KNIT SOCKS.

Pattern: Plain stockinette pattern found in Getting Started Knitting Socks by Ann Budd
Yarn: Lovesticks Sock Yarn in Socialite colorway
Needles: Chiagoo Size 1 (2.25mm) dpns

When I first started knitting I didn't understand some knitters fascination with socks. I didn't "get" it. While I haven't been converted into an avid sock knitter, I understand just a bit more why they enjoy knitting them.

I won't be rushing to knit another pair quite yet, but I do know that another pair (or two) is in the future. In fact, I have some lofty sock aspirations.

For now, I'll just enjoy looking at them and enjoy giving them away to someone who will appreciate my first socks.

Congratulations on your first socks! I'm currently making my second pair ever. I think making your own is such a nice way to have pretty socks. The socks you aspire to look gorgeous as well.
