Friends good. Knitting friends great.

It's alive, it's alive, IT'S ALIVE!

Truly it is. I'm working on a project that has been awakened from it's hibernating state and couldn't be happier. Back in February my DH took me on a little yarn buying trip for my birthday. I was of course thrilled since I could buy pretty much whatever I wanted. To an extent of course, we gotta eat after all. We can't survive on yarn. Well, maybe I could but not The Boy.

Anyhoo, I bought my first copy of Rebecca (issue #31) because I'd seen so many awesome projects come out of that magazine. Before even leaving the LYS I found project #37, a cropped lace cardigan, and bought the yarn. I got knitting and everything was going great until I got to the armhole shaping dun, dun, dun!!!

Now, I'm sure armhole shaping is not a big deal but in my defense this was the first time I'd ever done it AND it was in a lace pattern. For the life of me I couldn't get the darn thing right. I would bind off and bind off, but always end up with the incorrect number of stitches after all the required binding off. After ripping back countless times, I decided to not fret my pretty little head and put the project down for a bit. Out of sight, out of mind right?

Wrong! I'd work on other projects and always feel like I was neglecting a child or something (o.k. that's extreme). When my family would see me working on a new project they'd somehow remember my Rebecca project and ask, "How's that cardigan coming along." Uh, it's not.

So finally I decided to make a trip to the knitting community mecca. . .Ravelry. I searched to see if someone else was working on this particular project, and lo and behold ONE OTHER PERSON WAS! Woohoo! I mustered up the courage to send her a message and ask for help. She replied, gave me some advice, and the rest is knitting history.

Thanks to Superstarra I've moved past the trouble spot and am happily knitting on. I am so grateful to her for answering my questions and replying so nicely to all of them. THANKS SUPERSTARRA!!

So that's where I am now, just knitting away on my lace cardi and enjoying the fact that I have a correct stitch count. It's the little things ya'll, it's the little things.

Oh, and Ravelry rocks but you knew that.

Oh, it's my pleasure! We all have to help each other out..that's how we learn!

I'm liking the black. And if you need any other help, just e-mail or contact me on Ravelry!

I am impressed! I don't know how you find the time to knit, and blog... and actually finish projects.
Love the Black =D
